Three days late? Oh, come on, I was in cryogenic sleep. How was I supposed to know I missed Dojo Day? Moving on, you will see to your left a picture that chills me to the bone. That picture of 1000 bloodthirsty zombie childre… oh, wrong one. Well, this one’s pretty creepy too, because it’s got Squirtle in it. Damn, I hate Squirtle. Welcome to Dojo Day.
Pokemon Trainer: Here it is! New character number 2! Ash Ketchum! Well, not quite, but believe me, it’s a good thing we didn’t get him. Pokemon Trainer stands in the background gesticulating wildly while you play as his Pokemon. The down special move will change Pokemon, much like Zelda/Sheik in Melee. You have the option to switch between Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard.
Devil: This character from Devil World, the Japan-only NES title, will appear as an Assist Trophy. When he appears, in all of his flabby-bellied, vaguely-religious glory, he will point a certain way, causing the entire screen to scroll that way.
Stickers: They’re like Trophies, but easier to get. You can put them together and make PURTY PIKTURZ, then (maybe) take pictures of them and send them to your friends.
Tether Recovery: Talks about tether recovery (that thing Samus and Link did with Grapple Beam and Hookshot respectively), and confirms that Zero Suit Samus’ plasma whip can serve the same purpose.
Peach: Peach is in the game. Pray that they don’t include her Strikers outfit.
Though I love to diss Pokemon, I really am excited for this character. Pokemon Trainer provides a fresh new type of character, and will add a completely new level of gameplay to Brawl. Devil is a cool idea, though I haven’t heard of Devil World before. I think the stickers are a ridiculous extra feature that no one will end up using, and though I like having more features in a game, if they take away from the gameplay experience, I’ll get angry. And you won’t like me when I’m angry.
